Abstract :
It is shown that measurements of the spin rotation parameters in πp elastic scattering allow to remove discrete ambiguities in a partial-wave analysis and, hence, to get a unique solution. Recent results obtained in experiments at ITEP accelerator are presented, and perspectives of further measurements are discussed.
Another valuable contribution to the spectroscopy of nonstrange baryons comes from extensive investigation of π−p reactions with neutral particles in the final state. Two complementary programs of studying π−p reactions with neutral particles in the final state are now underway at the accelerators of PNPI and BNL. A brief description of experimental setups and examples of obtained results are given.
