Abstract
We study the proton emission process from particle-unbound levels of 31Cl. A standard shell-model calculation provides the single-particle structure of the excited states of 31Cl, and Gamow wave functions are used to describe the proton emission. Recent experimental data are analyzed to obtain information about spins and parities of the excited levels and the most important proton decay channels.
