Study of doubly strangeness nuclei at BNL Original Research Article

An experiment searching for double-Λ hypernuclei in (K−, K+) reactions on 9Be was carried out at the D6 line in the BNL-AGS. The technique was the observation of two pions produced in sequential mesonic weak decay. The results indicate production of a significant number of the double hypernucleus ΛΛ4H.
