Abstract :
Wobbling-phonon excitations, which are recently observed in 71163Lu92, are studied. The presence of alignments in nuclei makes it easier for wobbling excitations to appear at lower angular momenta of the yrast spectra. A family of rotational bands with wobbling excitations, which have nearly the same nuclear intrinsic structure, have been pinned down by observing specific electromagnetic decay properties between them. The triaxiality parameter γ = +20° is obtained for the nuclear shape from measured E2 transition probabilities.
