Abstract :
The detailed level scheme of 11Be, including spin-parity assignments, has been established from a β-delayed decay spectroscopy of spin-polarized 11Li (View the MathML source). From the decay scheme of 11Be, neutron spectroscopic factors of the levels in 11Be have been determined. The present results have been compared with the predictions by the Anti-symmetrized Molecular Dynamics (AMD) theory, where various types of α-cluster states have been predicted for the excited states both in 11Be and 10Be. Some of the levels in 11Be show good accord with the 2α-cluster states in the rotational bands and with a single α-cluster state.
