New advances in the determination of the 87Rb shape factor function Original Research Article

The accurate use of the radioisotope 87Rb for rock dating nowadays demands an improvement in the half-life value. Although we have recently developed a powerful tool for half-life determination in long-lived isotopes, the technique is strongly dependent on the β spectrum shape factor function. The aim of this work is to search for an improved shape factor function of 87Rb. We review the theoretical results of Szybisz within the framework of CVC theory, comparing them with our most recent measurements.
