Abstract
The utilization of recently developed numerical techniques for assessment of the state of corrosion and consequences for the safety of old steel bridges subjected to dynamic forcing is submitted in this paper. A parallel processing wave approach together with up to date numerical approaches for the calculation of corrosion damaged old steel bridge dynamics are treated. The results of numerical and experimental assessments of the corrosion damaged steel bridge in Rendsburg, Germany, are submitted, evaluated and discussed below.
