Abstract :
An empirical model based on dimensional analysis has been developed, to predict the heat transfer coefficient in fluidized bed. To verify the model, a series of experiments were conducted in a cylindrical reactor, with an inside diameter (I. D.) of 142 mm and a height of 1 m, having a spherical copper heater. Experiments were performed at a gas velocity ranging from 0.02-1.5 m/s, and for five different solid particles. The predicted results were compared with the data of the present experiments, as well as with models and experimental data of other investigators.
