Abstract :
An analysis is presented to study the effect of viscous dissipation, the thermal dispersion and Joule heating on MHD-free convection flow with a variable plate temperature in a micropolar fluid in the presence of uniform transverse magnetic field. Results for velocity, angular velocity and thermal functions are displayed for a range of values of the material parameters of micropolar fluid, thermal dispersion and magnetic field parameters. The presence of dissipation increases both the skin friction and the rate of heat transfer at the surface. The friction factor and heat transfer rate increase with an increase in the thermal dispersion parameter and it decrease with an increase in the magnetic field parameter Mn and micropolar parameter Δ.
