Abstract :
An inverse analysis is presented for simultaneous estimation of temperature profile and absorption coefficient for an absorbing, emitting, non-scattering, gray, one-dimensional semitransparent slab with transparent boundaries from the knowledge of the exit radiation intensities at boundary surfaces. The inverse problem is formulated as an optimization problem and solved by using a mixed method of the conjugate gradient method and the one-dimensional search method. The effects of the measurement errors on the accuracy of the inverse analysis are investigated. The study shows that the temperature profile and the absorption coefficient can be estimated accurately, even with noisy data.
