Abstract :
Turbulent flow and convective heat transfer over an inclined prism is investigated using bound skew hybrid difference scheme. The flow is assumed incompressible two-dimensional recirculating. The k-ε turbulence model with modification to account streamline curvature is used as well as wall function multi-layer turbulent is employed for condition boundary. Numerical computation is carried out for the plate with aspect ratio 41, Re=3×104 and incident angels 0, 5, 10, 15 and 20. The fluid flow and heat transfer predictions are compared with experimental measurements and satisfactory agreements is observed. Numerical results provided conclusive evidence that the flow and heat transfer is different substantially on forward and leeward of the plate as the incident angle increases.
