Abstract
Data obtained for the kinetics of oxidation of diethyl sulfide (Et2S) by hydrogen peroxide in aqueous solution catalyzed by boric acid indicate that monoperoxoborates B(O2H)(OH)3 ^- and diperoxoborates B(O2 H)2 (OH) 2^- are the active species. The rates of the reactions of Et2S with B(O2H)(OH)3^and B(O2 H)2(OH) 2^-are 2.5 and 100 times greater than with H2O2.
