The Korean Press Establishing Public Person as a Safeguard against Libel Suits

This study begins with an understanding that Korean press has no legitimate safeguard to protect itself from libel suits caused by false news reports about ʹpublic personsʹ. It goes on to examine how the Korean press has tried to construct the ʹpublic personʹ as a legal shield against libel actions.
