Denailing and toe cut as a traditional remedy for lumbar disc herniation!

1A 43-year-old Afghan man referred to our clinic for evaluation of right foot pain. In careful history he revealed shooting pain indicative of lumbar radicular pain, On physical examination he had clues of recent denailing and horizontal toe cut performed by a traditional therapist. His neurological examination showed diminished right Achilles tendon reflex. With diagnosis of discogenic pain lumbar MRI was requested that showed overt L5- S1 disc extrusion.
