Abstract :
This study aims to compare teaching skills, communicative skills, and experiences of
faculty members with scores above and below evaluation mean of students in Tabriz
University. This study is casual-comparative using descriptive methods. Statistical
population includes 342 teachers of arts, basic sciences, and technical-engineering
departments in first university half year of 2011-2012.To select sample, Morgan Table
was used. Seventy one respondents from arts, 52 respondents from basic sciences, and
63 respondents from technical-engineering departments were selected by multistep
random sampling. To gathered data, a researcher-made questionnaire was used with 5point
Likert scale including 37 questions for measuring variables. To analyzed data,
MANOVA test, multivariable variance analysis, and independent t-test were used.
Based on the results, there was a significant difference between teaching skills,
communicative skills, and experiences of teachers with scores above and below
evaluation mean of students. Mean score of teachers above evaluation mean of students
was higher than mean score of teachers below evaluation mean of students. According
to MANOVA test results, the difference between teachers in two groups regarding
teaching skills was insignificant; but it was significant regarding communicative skills
and teachersʹ experiences among teachers of Arts, Basic Sciences, and Technical engineering
departments.
