Abstract :
Ce1-xLaxO2-δ solid solution powders were successfully synthesized by a microwave-induced combustion process. For the preparation, cerium nitrate hexahydrate (Ce(NO3)3.6H2O), lanthanum nitrate hexahydrate (La(NO3)3.6H2O), and urea (CO(NH2)2) were used for the microwave-induced combustion process. The process took only 6 min to obtain Ce1-xLaxO2-δ powders. The resultant powders were characterized by XRD, SEM, and Raman techniques. The as-received Ce1-xLaxO2-x/2 powders showed that the average particle size ranged from 20 nm to 30 nm, and the appearance were porous.
