Abstract :
The tribological characteristics of fluorophlogopite glass ceramics were investigated. The friction and wear properties of fluorophlogopite glass ceramics sliding against cemented carbide were carried out at various loads. Friction coefficients and wear rates were tested on a pin-on-disk wear tester. The morphologies of the worn surfaces of the glass-ceramics were observed on optical microscope. Wear mechanism of glass-ceramics were discussed. As a result, the average friction coefficient of fluorophlogopite glass ceramics sliding against cemented carbide was equal to 0.10. The wear rate of glass-ceramics was larger at lower loads, and then it decreased with further increase of load.
