Optical memory based on the long-lived photon echo and optical superradiance in crystals doped by rare-earth ions

The problems of optical memory (OM) based on the long-lived stimulated photon echo and multichannel optical superradiance are discussed. Experiments on the observation of optical superradiance in LaF3:Pr3+ crystal and triggering superradiance in biphenyl crystal doped by pyrene have been described. The possible architecture of the storage unit based on the multichannel optical superradiance is present.
