Spectroscopic characterization of LaALO3 crystal doped with Pr3+ ions

The spectroscopic properties of Pr3+-doped LaAlO3 mono crystal were investigated at various temperatures. Absorption, emission, excitation and lifetime measurements were performed and discussed in the framework of the Judd–Ofelt approach. The visible emission is dominated by the 3P0→3H4 ,3H6 ,3F2 transitions. The quantum efficiency of the 3P0 emission is almost one. Emission cross-sections of these transitions were calculated.
