Abstract
It is found that the fluorescence intensity of Tb3+-oxolinic acid (OA) complex can be greatly quenched by albumins in sodium dodecyl sulphate (SLS). Under optimum conditions, the quenched fluorescence intensity is in proportion to the concentration of proteins in the range of 5.0×10−8–1.0×10−5 g ml−1 for bovine serum albumin (BSA), 1.0×10−7–1.0×10−5 g ml−1 for human serum albumin (HSA) and 4.0×10−7–1.0×10−5 g ml−1 for egg albumin (EA). Their detection limits (S/N=3) are 2.1×10−8, 2.5×10−8 and 5.0×10−8 g ml−1, respectively. In addition, the interaction mechanism is also investigated.
