Abstract :
A model accounting for the simultaneous presence of static and dynamic disorder is developed for herringbone (HB) aggregates and thin films of conjugated oligomers such as oligo-phenylene vinylene and oligothiophene. Short-range orientational defects as well as stacking faults (SFs) are considered within the motional narrowing regime. Temperature effects are included under the fast scattering approximation. Adding orientational defects attenuates 0–0 emission in HB aggregates while enhancing 0–0 emission when stacking faults are already present.
