Abstract :
We present an approach to the design of a one-dimensional perfectly conducting randomly rough surface that when illuminated at normal incidence by a laser beam produces a partially coherent scattered beam with a Gaussian dependence of its mean intensity in the mean scattering surface and with a specified spectral degree of coherence in that surface that can have a nearly arbitrary form. The approach is validated by the results of computer simulations.
