Abstract :
The problem discussed in this paper runs on propagation of disturbances in the segmental rod of slowly varying cross-section area. The rod is made of three homogeneous and isotropic hyperelastic materials. This paper employs an approximate form of analysis based on the assumption of one-dimensional stress to find the transport equation for the intensity of the incident, reflected and refracted acceleration wave. Moreover, the numerical analysis of the problem of propagation of the acceleration wave in the thin segmental elastic rod of slowly varying cross-section was made. Results are illustrated for Murnaghanʹs nonlinear elastic materials.
