Abstract
Agglomerated tin oxide (SnO2) microparticles were fabricated by thermal evaporation of solid Sn powders. Samples were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, X-ray powder diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, and photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy. As-prepared particles had diameters ranging from 0.2 to 1.3 μm, and appeared to be crystalline with tetragonal rutile SnO2 structure. PL spectrum showed light emission in the visible field.
