Abstract :
Block heterogeneities have an important influence on macroscale two-phase flow and transport in porous media. Applying a vertex-centered finite volume method, we first focus on a physically correct representation of the processes at the interface between different materials, i.e. of capillary equilibrium enforcing a discontinuity in saturation. Second, we will compare different linearization schemes in the Newton iterations in order to improve the efficiency of the numerical simulator.
