A new affinity ligand for the isolation of a single ‘feruloyl esterase’ (FAE-III) from Aspergillus niger Original Research Article

8-Aminooctyl 5′-S-coniferyl-5′-deoxy-thio-α-l-arabinofuranoside has been synthesised and shown to be a selective affinity ligand for the feruloyl esterase of Aspergillus niger. The hydrolyses of methyl 5-O-coumaroyl, feruloyl, or sinapoyl α-l-arabinofuranosides by this enzyme proceed at comparable rates.
