Abstract
Photoinduced electron transfer (PET) reactions between C60–γ-cyclodextrin (CD) inclusion complex and some water-soluble amine electron donors in aqueous solution were studied by the ESR technique. Both C60− monoanion and C602− dianion can be detected in the PET processes. ESR observation also exhibits that one of the major factors affecting the half-life of the dianion radical is the stability of the corresponding donor cations. In addition, amino group in amino acid cannot donate any electron to C60–γ-CD.
