Abstract
EPR studies of Cu2+ ions doped in KZnClSO4·3H2O single crystals have been studied at different temperatures. Two magnetically inequivalent Cu2+ sites have been identified. The Cu2+ ions in the lattice are found to be in rhombic symmetry. The temperature variation studies of polycrystalline EPR spectra reveal that Cu2+ ions exhibit dynamic and static Jahn–Teller effects above and below the Jahn–Teller transition temperature, respectively. The temperature-dependant spin-Hamiltonian parameters were evaluated and discussed.
