Photoinduced spin-disorder in a ferromagnetic maganite film Original Research Article

Photoinduced effects in a La0.6Sr0.4MnO3 film (Tc∼315 K) have been investigated in the temperature range 290–470 K by means of a pump-probe method. Below Tc, we have observed transient transmission changes ΔT/T induced by pump pulse excitations at 2.54 and 1.55 eV, which have been interpreted in terms of the photoinduced spin-disorder in the ferromagnetic phase. We further have compared the photoinduced ΔT/T with the photoinduced resistivity change ΔR/R.
