Abstract :
The structural changes observed ‘in situ’ in CuInSe2 and CuIn3Se5 heated up to the melting point and cooled down to room temperature using synchrotron radiation are reported. The samples were synthesised from the elements, grinded and encapsulated in vacuum. The capsules received a thermal cycle from room temperature up to 1000 °C and then down to 500 °C and 2D diffraction diagrams at 90 KeV were taken along the thermal cycle. The analysis of the diagrams led us to determine the structural transition temperatures and the structural changes in the analysed compounds. Moreover, CuIn3Se5 crystal structure fits to the Spatial Group with agreement factors comparable to those of a single crystal.
