Abstract :
Two new nickel clusters, namely Ni6(μ-DTT)3 (DTT = dithiothreitol for 1, L-dithiothreitol for 1L), have been successfully synthesized and characterized. 1L is a chiral cluster. Single X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that clusters 1 and 1L are the first nickel thiolate clusters exhibiting a unique trigonal prismatic Ni6 structure.
