Zeolite-encapsulated nickel (II) complexes with 14-membered hexaaza macrocycle: synthesis and characterization

Nickel (II) complexes with 14-membered hexaaza macrocyclic ligand “1,8-dialkyl-1,3,6,8,10,13-hexaaza cyclotetradecane, “[Ni (R2 [14] ane N6)](ClO4)2” (R=Me, Et, Bu, Benzyl), have been prepared by the one-pot template reactions of formaldehyde and ethylenediamine with amine within the cavities of Y-zeolite. The new materials were characterized by several techniques: chemical analysis and spectroscopic methods (FT-IR, UV–Vis, XRD, BET, DRS).
