A polymeric Mn complex with mixed pyridine-3,4-dicarboxylate/4,4′-bipyridine ligands: [Mn2(C7H3NO4)2(C10H8N2)2]n · 2nH2O

The hydrothermal reaction of Mn(CH3CO2)2 · 4H2O, pyridine-3,4-dicarboxylic acid, 4,4′-bipyridine and H2O led to the formation of a polymeric Mn species, [Mn2(C7H3NO4)2(C10H8N2)2]n · 2nH2O. The complex presents a three-dimensional structure and exhibits intense fluorescent emission upon photo-excitation.
