Abstract :
Reaction of 1-(2-N,N-dimethylaminophenyl)-2-methylindenyllithium with (Ph3P)3RuCl2 affords the chloro(indenyl)bis(triphenylphosphine)ruthenium(II) complex 5, where the nitrogen is not coordinated to the metal. The corresponding reaction of 1-(2-N,N-dimethylamino-6-methylphenyl)-2-methylindenyllithium affords the chloro(η5:κN-indenyl)(triphenylphosphine)ruthenium(II) complex 6, which has been characterised by single crystal X-ray analysis.
