Abstract :
Synthesized quaternary NCYU-1, i.e., [Cd4In16 S33 − xSex]10−, supertetrahedral clusters reveal two strong solid state luminescence peaks, centered at 460 and 530 nm, under excitation by UV radiation (λ = 360 nm). The peak at 530 nm is due to the porosity property of T4 clusters (such as NCYU-CdInS). However, this is the first time for reporting the 460-nm peak and it is attributed to the trace doped Se atoms confined in the NCYU-1 clusters. In the absorption spectra, both the intensity and the λmax of the absorption peak show no obvious difference for the NCYU-1 samples with a different doped amount of Se (0.33 < x < 0.45).
