Abstract :
Two homochiral 3D supramolecular architectures, {[Cu(l-threoninato)(4,4′-bipy)(H2O)][NO3] · 1.5H2O}n (1) and {[Cu2(l-alaninato)2(4,4′-bipy)2(H2O)2]2[NO3]4 · 6H2O}n (2) (4,4′-bipy = 4,4′-bipyridine), were synthesized through self-assembly of Cu(II)-amino acid five-membered rings and 4,4′-bipy. The 1D right-handed helical cation chains in 1 extend into 3D host architecture with 3D anion guest helixes in its chiral channels, while the left- and right-handed double helical cation chains in 2 extend into interlocked 3D structure. Their TG analyses and magnetic properties are also discussed.
