Abstract :
A three-dimensional cyanide-bridged bimetallic assembly [NiII(tn)2]5[FeIII(CN)6]2[FeII(CN)6] (tn = 1,3-propanediamine) has been synthesized. The structure consists of cyanide bridged neutral NiII5FeIII2FeII units. Each hexacyanoferrate(II) ion connects six NiII ions using all six CN– groups and each hexacyanoferrate(III) ion coordinates with two NiII ions. Magnetic studies show that the complex displays a ferromagnetic coupling between Ni(II) and Fe(III).
