Abstract :
[Cu2(NiL)2(N3)4] was synthesized by combining “complex as ligand” approach and “pure bridging ligand” approach (H2L = dimethyl 5,6,7,8,15,16-hexahydro-15-methyl-6,7-dioxodibenzo[1,4,8,11]tetraazacyclotetradecine-13,18-dicarboxylate). The two CuII ions are bridged by two end-on azido ligands. π⋯π and oxamido–carbonyl interactions link the molecules into 1D supramolecular chains. Ferromagnetic interactions exist between the two CuII ions.
