Abstract :
The novel 3D coordination polymer, [Zn3(μ5-PTC)2(μ2-H2O)2]n (1), has been synthesized by hydrothermal reaction of ZnI2 · 4H2O with H3PTC and triethylamine (H3PTC = pyridine-2,4,6-tricarboxylatic acid). Single crystal X-ray structural analysis reveals that complex 1 crystallizes in an orthorhombic space group Pbcn, holding the unusual (5,6)-connected 3D topological network. Fluorescent measurement of 1 exhibits strong blue emission in the solid state at room temperature, and its framework shows remarkable thermal stability.
