Abstract
Crystallisation of [Pd(bedp)]Cl2 (bedp = 1,4-bis[2-(3,5-dimethyl-1-pyrazolyl)ethyl] piperazine) in DMSO affords the compound [Pd(bedp)][Pd2Cl4(μ-SMe)2], where the cation complex is mononuclear and the anion complex is dinuclear. The most surprising feature is the formation of the anion image, as this anion has not been described in the literature. In this anion, each palladium atom is coordinated by two thiolate bridging sulfurs and two terminal chlorides.
