Abstract :
A new fluorescence probe has been developed for the recognition of Y3+. The probe, 2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehyde salicyloylhydrazone, L, with Y3+ was studied in detail. Based on the chelation reaction, a highly sensitive colorimetric and fluorescent method was developed for the determination of yttrium in THF; it can detect the trace Y3+ with naked-eye in the sun. The binding mode was investigated by UV–Vis spectra, ESI-TOF MS, IR and XRD.
