Abstract :
A novel organic-inorganic composite As(III)Mo(V)O cluster decorated with Cu(II)-en groups, [{Cu(en)2}2As6Mo4O20(OH)2]·2H2O, has been synthesized hydrothermally and structurally characterized. The framework of the cluster complex is constructed from one reduced Mo4O16 core, two HAs3O7 chains and two Cu(en)2O square-pyramids. There are two MoMo bonds with distances of 2.606(2) Å in the complex. A probe reaction of the oxidation of benzaldehyde with H2O2 shows that the cluster complex has high catalytic activity in the reaction.
