Abstract :
The reactions of [n-Bu4N]2Re2Cl8 with the phosphine ligands Ph2PCMe2PPh2 (2,2-dppp) and Ph2PC(CH2)2PPh2(cdpp), which are derivatives of Ph2PCH2PPh2, lead to the complexes trans-ReCl2(2,2-dppp)2 (1) and Re2Cl4(μ-cdpp)2 (2), respectively, while Re2(μ-O2CCH3)4Cl2 reacts with cdpp to afford trans-Re2(μ-O2CCH3)2Cl2(μ-cdpp)2 (5). The crystal structures of 1 and 5 have been determined, that of 5 being only the second one reported for a complex of cdpp.
