Abstract
The crystal and molecular structures of the five-coordinate complexes [Cu(dipyr)(N-sac)(O-sac)(H2O)] (1), and [Cu(dipyr)2(N-sac)](sac)·0.25H2O (2), formed by reaction of dipyridylamine with [Cu(sac)2(H2O)4]·2H2O, have both been determined; the monosubstituted product represents the first example of a mononuclear transition metal complex with N- and O-bonded saccharinate ligands present, both at comparatively short distances from Cu.
