Abstract
Y0.99Er0.01VO4 and Lu0.99Er0.01VO4 zircon-type compounds have been synthesized by solid-state reaction starting from the parent oxides. The obtained materials are single phase, well crystallized and homogeneous in the chemical composition.
The magic angle spinning-NMR characterization points toward the substitutional nature of erbium on the rare earth site. The isotropic chemical shift of 89Y in an orthovanadate is reported for the first time.
