Study of effect cultivar and intera-row spacing on rate establishment and potato yield in summer planting in the Isfahan(Iran)

An experiment was conducted to study effect cultivar and intera-row spacing in Summer planting of potato in the Isfahan . The experimental design was a randomized complete block design as factorial experiment arrangement with three replications in research field of Islamic Azad University of Isfahan, Iran(32.42N:51.48E:1555m,a.s.i)The first factor was eight cultivars(Marfona,Santana,Santé, Agria, Satina,Almera,Arinda,Moran). The second factor was two distance space on row (10 and 20 centimeter).percentage emergence ,number establishment plant, percentage establishment, percentage loss before emergence, percentage after emergence. Plant yield and total yield were investigated. Effect cultivar on all the measured traits was significant. The highest percentage emergence and lowest loss related to cultivars of Almera and Moran, the highest tuber yield of plant related to cultivar Santana and highest total tuber yield related to cultivars Santana and Arinda.Effec intera-row spacing on yield of plant was significant at level 5% probability. The highest plant yield (203.4 gr/p) were obtained at intera-row spacing of 10 centimeter. Interaction cultivar and intera-row spacing only was significant for plant tuber yield and highest Plant tuber yield was obtained by cultivar Santana at intera-row spacing of 20 centimeter .The results showed that main problem in summer planting was weak establishment because unsuitable temperature condition on the time establishment .For decrease problem of establishment and increased total yield in summer planting can use cultivars that have high Plant tuber yield and percentage establishment and were planted at intera-row spacing of 10 centimeter.
