Determination of the shear modulus of orthotropic materials from off-axis tension tests

The paper is concerned with the study of the possibility to determine the shear modulus of orthotropic materials using testing under tension in the direction making some angle with the principal material axis. Conditions that should be imposed on the material properties providing the possibility of this test are derived and analyzed in application to composite materials.
