Honeycomb sandwich residual stress deformation pattern

Our work addresses the phenomenon of face-sheet undulation of multi-material sandwich structures with honeycomb cores. We show that the periodic deflection pattern can be caused by residual stresses and perform a parametric study to expose the sensitivity of it to geometric parameters. We also explore the effect of the deviation of the core geometry from the ideal of a regular hexagon.
