Abstract
This work was examined the link between using smart-board (SB) in class and motivation and the correlation of SB
on learning a foreign language by testing two groups of the students .In group A the students were in the classes
with common white board and students in other group, we called group B, were under treatment in a class equipped
with SB. The students of both groups were high school students in grade 3 in Arak, Iran and were randomly selected
among 143 students of two high schools.
A standard motivation test and a general English test were administered to both groups A and B. Statistical
analysis including ANOVA, T-test and a descriptive statistics revealed following outcomes: 1- The classes with and
without SB not significantly different in motivation, 2- No significant difference was seen among these two groups
in learning English as a foreign language.
