Abstract :
In this paper an analysis of the classical high-order Extremum Seeking Control (ESC) scheme is presented in comparison with an improved ESC variant proposed here. The proposed ESC scheme is based on a band-pass filter instead of the series combination of high-pass and low-pass filters used in the classical ESC scheme. The relation between the search speed and the derivatives of the unknown input-to-output map and the cut-off frequencies of the band-pass filter is shown. The analytical results are validated by the simulation performed. Also, the ratio of the search speed is estimated analytically during the search speed based on the derivatives of the unknown input-to-output map. The performance of the proposed ESC scheme related to the search speeds is clearly highlighted in this paper based on the ratio of these search speeds that are computed and estimated by simulation, too.
